ARSENAL FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH EXSPORTISE

SPECIALIST GOALKEEPER COACHING FOR AGES 9 - 17

OUR MISSION

We believe that better people make better players - and better goalkeepers. Goalkeeping is a specialist position, and we coach it that way. Every player matters to us, and they are at the heart of our approach.

Arsenal Football Development has designed a philosophy and training programme that recreates the experiences of Arsenal Academy players. Goalkeepers work daily with dedicated goalkeeper coaches on handling, footwork and set position, shot-stopping, crosses and claims, one-v-ones and distribution, before joining their outfield teammates for possession work, small-sided games and match play. It allows boys and girls to enhance their goalkeeping while learning to “Play the Arsenal Way”.

All Programmes are run in partnership with Exsportise Summer Schools.

GOALKEEPER WORKSHOPS & ANALYSIS

Goalkeepers attend workshops and analysis sessions alongside their outfield teammates to gain further insight into the life of a professional athlete.

These may include further sessions on:

  • Professional football careers

  • Handling, set positions, and footwork

  • One-v-ones and angle play

  • Distribution and playing out from the back

  • Communication and organising a defence

  • Rehabilitation & Recovery

  • Nutrition

  • Teamwork and goal setting

Beyond the pitch, goalkeepers learn the importance of recovery, strength & conditioning and nutrition to manage the intensive programme and become true athletes.

Workshops are designed and delivered by Exsportise Academy Coaches, including UEFA Pro Licence holders, former professional players and current academy coaches.

PERFORMANCE & DEVELOPMENT

Arsenal Football Development’s coaching philosophy aligns with Exsportise’s, providing holistic experiences and development. Goalkeepers are developed across the same four pillars as outfield players: physical, technical, tactical and psychological.

At the end of the week, an official end-of-course certificate is awarded to each player, contributing to their ongoing improvement in the game. Every goalkeeper receives verbal feedback from Arsenal Football Development’s head coaches.

With participants from over 85+ countries, the camp provides a genuinely international football experience, fostering growth, English learning, the development of new friendships, and creating lasting memories for players.

Goalkeeper places at each venue are limited so that goalkeeper-to-coach ratios stay low. We recommend booking early.

Typical day at Exsportise arsenal camps: Wake up at 07:30, breakfast, then three hours of football, lunch, then another three hours of football, dinner, then evening entertainment and after that, bedtime
